John Warren comments: Seventeen riders arrived at Franktown for our first 40k TT on our new County Road 10 course. Low pressure, overcast warm 24C were ideal conditions. Sixteen riders finished, Shawn Hamilton was suffering stomach cramps and abandoned. The fastest overall was Craig Burge (OBC) in a time of 57:18 a course record. Fastest from ABC, Neil Farish had a time of 61:59 an ABC course record. Fastest female was Alison Ingham (RwR) with a time of 67:50 a ladies course record. Fastest female from ABC was Dianne Marleau in a time of 69:15, an ABC ladies course record.
Celia McInnis adds: Several people reported that they found the course harder than expected with long gentle grades rather than steep hills such as on the Calabogie course. One benefit of the steeper hills in Calabogie is that many of us stand on a few of the hills, and this change of position results in less soreness than some of us experienced on today's Franktown-Perth course. Still, every person who rode the 2013-Jun-02 40km TT on the Calabogie Course was faster on the CR10 course, and the average of their cube speed improvements was 17.42%! As well, all but one of today's riders was quicker today than their best on the Calabogie Course in 2012 or 2013.
